Volunteering Working Parties

In many respects it is “early days” for working parties, as priority is being given to the planning and development stages of the project. Nevertheless we have a working site in South Wales, where we keep our Class 22 engine, and will be arranging Working Parties to help with the engine restoration and other tasks related to the build. The working yard is shared with the SWLCPG and there are a number of opportunities to work on the other cabs as well.

We aim to eventually run Working Days every month. A number of skilled volunteers have already signed up for the engine rebuild, yet we are always looking for help in all areas – even if you can just make tea you will be welcome.

Our aim is to build an engineering team in readiness for the full loco build process. If you would like to become involved with the Working Parties, please contact us to discuss any upcoming dates, or watch the Events page, where Working Parties will be advertised.
